An energy reader told me I “need to lower my standards” of myself - FUCK that.

This song aches - ugh. It’s so beautiful and heavy. It’s from the movie Good Dick which I just watched and was pleasantly surprised by - it really struck a chord with me, especially after I learned that the lead female character was the writer, director and producer. There was something so true with its sloppiness and the emotional confusion/complexity/seemingly nonsensical nature of people’s lingering emotions from past trauma. I feel like it communicated some nuanced things that I always struggle to communicate. The unnecessary and slightly childish comments she makes and responses she has, and how she restricts herself from something she wants and in turn knowingly chooses to experience it only through removed observation.
